90’s Movies I Love (Des Blog-a-thon) #6

Sister Act 2 (1993): Honestly, I think Sister Act 2 is better than the first movie lol. I guess because the second one brings more entertainment. Whoopi Goldberg (Sister Mary Clarence) brings the movie to life along with the other characters. She is so hilarious. I love how she spoke her mind and changed the kids in a positive way. I love when Lauryn Hill (Rita in the movie) sings in this movie! Her voice is so beautiful. She’s one of my favorite singers by the way. I can’t forget about one of my favorite parts when the students are performing the song “Oh  Happy Day!” It was funny when Wesley shocked Sister Mary Clarence when he hit those high pitch singing notes. All the kids in the movie have talent though. This movie is on Hulu Plus if you’re interested in watching it.

(Oh Happy Day scene skip the video to 2;39 to see when Wesley shocks Sister Mary Clarence)

Good Burger (1997): This movie came out the year I was born. Every time when I went to my cousin house we used to re watch this movie a lot on the VCR. I can quote most of the words to this movie. I love the scene when Ed starts singing “I’m a dude, she’s a dude, he’s a dude, cause we’re all dudes hey!” Kenan (Dexter in the movie) and Kel (Ed in the movie) always are the perfect duo when they play in comedy movies. Ed always was clueless in the movie lol. You can watch this movie on Netflix if you haven’t seen it before or want to re watch it.

(Ed singing scene)

Pocahontas (1995): First let me start with saying how beautiful Pocahontas is as an animated character. Whoever drew her took their time. I wanted to be her so bad when I was younger. My favorite song she sings on the movie is “Just around the Riverbend”. The song always touches my heart. A funny thing I want to mention is I used to try to reenact the part when Pocahontas jumped off the cliff into the water. Instead of jumping off an actual cliff I would get on a chair and jump from it and pretend that the floor was water lol. Don’t judge me I had a wild imagination when I was younger. Fun Fact: Pocahontas is a real person back in my junior year of high school my teacher told us in history class that Pocahontas was a little girl when she met John and they weren’t in a relationship like in the movie. She die as a young adult from a European disease.

(Just around the riverbend song)

( Jumping off Cliff scene)

Matilda (1996):  Matilda is such a sweet heart. It sucks that her parents treated her wrong.  She was a gifted child. Her teacher is so sweet. It made me happy when the teacher decided to adopt her because I knew she would take good care of Matilda. I used to think I had magic powers like Matilda with moving objects around the room if I concentrated on them hard enough lol.

George of the Jungle (1997): I had this movie on VCR. I can’t even count how many times I used to watch this movie and laugh at how ridiculous George acted over Jane. George was crazy in love with her. They were a cute couple. I liked how they had the Gorillas talking like humans. Especially the smart one that lived with George he had some funny jokes.

I enjoyed all these movies growing up. Also, I hope you enjoyed reading this post. So tell me what are your favorite movies? I’m interested in reading everyone’s comments!

Anxiety (Des Blog-a-thon) #5

Anxiety…

You make me feel awful

You make going out in public uncomfortable

I always feel like a pair of eyes are staring at me even though their not

I can’t sleep at night because you cause me to over think little mistakes that I made

Whether it was from today, yesterday, a year or month ago…

Why can’t you leave me alone?

You’re a big distraction to my life

Why can’t I be “normal” like others?

Don’t  get me started on trying to explain anxiety without being judged

It’s difficult for anyone to understand if they never experienced it…

So, I sit alone as an outcast dealing with anxiety alone…

Common Bad Habits Most People Have (Des Blog-a-Thon) #2

As humans, it’s natural to have a few bad habits here and there. None of us are perfect. In this blog post, you might be able to relate to a few talked about in the list below.

Overthinking – Usually over thinking comes from worrying or maybe your mind is trying to tell you something urgent. I know we all can relate to this. Overthinking causes us to lose sleep because our minds are so busy distracting us with tiny problems. This is frustrating and annoying. If you have this problem try to trick your mind to relax by clearing your head. If that doesn’t work for you take another bath or shower to relax your body. Another tip is to eat a snack that makes your belly full. I don’t know about anyone else but when my belly is full I get very sleepy lol.

Eating Junk Food – No matter how hard some of us try to go on a diet or “eat healthy” we find ourselves falling back into the cycle of eating junk food. First of all, trying to eat healthy is expensive and some of us don’t have money to spend on certain foods even though spending the money could be worth it. Second of all, cooking healthy requires a lack of flavor you are use to in junk foods. I’m not an expert on making tasty healthy meals, but I’m sure there are ingredients that can make this type of meal taste better. Third, we don’t think about the effects it will cause our health later in life.

Staying in Toxic Relationships – Let’s be honest love can blind you from all the warning signs in a toxic relationship. We try to visualize the problems into a positive light, but in the back of our minds, we know something isn’t right. Please don’t be oblivious if you notice problems in your relationship right away. Be grateful for being wise enough to catch the signs before you’re stuck being miserable. Even if you don’t see the problems ahead of time it’s never too late to end the relationship I REPEAT IT’S NEVER TOO LATE TO END THE RELATIONSHIP!! I’ll rather for you to be happy with your significant than feeling insecure, disrespected, or afraid.

Not budgeting and saving money – Now I know everyone is in charge of their money and can do whatever they want with it. I’m not typing this to tell you what to do. I believe we all should save a bit of money here and there especially when a “rainy day” ( urgent need of money for something important when your other funds are low) comes along. Saving some extra cash could come in handy one day. Sometimes we have to think about how useful saving money for our future is important. You can put aside at least 1 to 5  dollars to put in your piggy bank or where ever else you decide to stash your money.  I know that’s a small amount to start with but it’s really up to you to decide how much you want to stash now and then. Budgeting and saving money is difficult especially if you have bills to pay. Using coupons on items you buy from the store can possibly help save you a couple of dollars. Not going out to eat several times of the week can make a difference also. Try to shop at affordable stores that have items that fit in your price range so you don’t have to spend a chunk of money at an expensive store. These are just a few tips that could benefit you if you’re serious about budgeting and saving money.

My Daily Routine (Des Blog-a-thon) #1

Let’s see where I want to start…

When I wake up I check my phone 📱. Usually, I have a load of notifications from Twitter, iMessages, Facebook, and sometimes my blog. Oh yeah, I check the time to cause I wake up super early like 5 or 6 in the morning lol. It’s crazy because I don’t be having anywhere to go.

After I lay in the bed for a while checking my notifications. I get up to take my shower and stuff. When I’m done with that I get on my laptop to check my school assignments for the day. I have to make sure I stay on top of that. If I do have school work I get started on it right away if not I start thinking what blog and YouTube posts I should make for the day. If you’re interested in watching some of my Youtube videos here’s the link http://bit.ly/2pBSGvV to my channel.

Y’all would think I would go try to find some breakfast to eat after I wake up, but I don’t eat until the afternoon. I have no idea why I wait so long to feed myself when I’m home lol.

Anyways, I am lazy most of the day. Sometimes I try to find something good to watch on tv. In the mornings I usually watch the Jamie Foxx Show, Fresh Prince of Bel Air, and catch up on some reality shows. My eyes are glued on my phone though because I am on social media. It’s crazy how social media grabs our attention and causes a big distraction from any other task we are trying to do.

If I get bored with watching tv (when I’m actually paying attention to it lol) I’ll do some cleaning around the house or read my book “The Hate That U Give” by Angie Thomas. I recommend my readers to read that book it’s pretty good.

Oh yeah, if my boyfriend is off work I usually talk to him on Facetime for a while. Time flies by faster when we are on Facetime together. I enjoy our conversations.

Honestly, I don’t have a very interesting life. Most of the time I am chilling in the house away from chaos from the outside world. Sometimes, I do go out and that changes up my daily routine. I thank God for that because being in the house gets boring when you want to have some fun from time to time.

I’m hoping everyone enjoyed this post. I tried to make it a little interesting for y’all. Don’t be afraid to follow me on my social media. The links will be down below.

Des Blog-a-thon

Hey, bloggers, I wanted to tell everyone some exciting news. I will be doing a Des blog-a-thon for my readers. I’ll be starting it today. It’s an idea I thought about today and I know y’all will probably enjoy it. I’m not for sure if any other bloggers tried this before. If you are wondering what Des blog-a-thon is basically I will be doing back to back blog posts from me every day of the week until the end of next month (May). I’ll try to do 4 posts a day for my readers. This will be a challenge for me, but my readers deserved to get more frequent posts from me. The only struggle is having writer’s block lol. That’s something most of us experience. Anyways if there are any topics my readers want me to blog about please comment. I will make sure I do the post and dedicate it to you also. By me dedicating the post to you it would be a good way to promote your blog through my posts. Have a nice day!

Giving up on everything

I don’t know how to start this post off but here it goes… for the past few days I haven’t been feeling like myself. This past weekend I was out of town and I was fine nothing was bothering me at all. Since I’ve been back home I noticed how moody I’ve become. One moment I’m feeling good then I get angry and sad. I guess when I was away my mind didn’t have anything to worry about, but when I got home my worries came rushing back. Now I’m not motivated to do things that’s been keeping me happy. I know this is becoming a big problem because usually I would experience mood swings but they weren’t this bad. My thoughts are going back and forth with quitting my blog and YouTube which are things that I enjoyed. I know I don’t want to actually quit doing those things but negative thoughts keep smothering my positive thoughts. I feel like there’s no hope for me now. Maybe I’m wasting my time on my dreams. A little part of me didn’t want to make a blog post on this because I didn’t want to throw negative energy on my readers. I’m just trying to stay strong and not let this depression or whatever it is knock me down. If you took the time to read this I appreciate it. It means you somewhat cared what I had to say. I have some friends but they never know what’s going on with me cause I act like nothing is wrong. Honestly I’m comfortable with acting like everything is fine because I don’t want to be vulnerable in front of others because once I start expressing how I feel nobody understands and gives me unnecessary advice. They don’t even read my blog posts anyway, so they will never read this. It’s fine though because my blog is my private place from everyone that I personally know even though I know it’s on the internet but I feel more comfortable with telling my readers stuff like this because I know someone will be able to connect with me. Well, I’m not going to make this post any longer. Have a good evening readers.
