Stop Being Afraid of Long Distance Relationships

Stop being afraid of long distance relationships. They’re just like any other “normal” relationship besides the distance. People be like ” I don’t like long distance relationships because the person will cheat.” Or they will say “you never know what the person is doing when you’re not around.” Have any of you heard of the word called TRUST?

Stop trying to assume the worse out of long distance relationships without trying one. If the person you’re with cares about you. They won’t give you a reason to lose trust for them. Also, if they are doing something behind your back. You’ll get a funny feeling that they aren’t being faithful to you.

Anyways, don’t let assumptions get in the way of your fate. Your soulmate may be the person you get into a long-distance relationship with. Would you let distance stop you from being in a relationship with your soulmate? Long distance relationships teach you about your character, decision-making, and loyalty.

 So, what’s your point?

My point is people love to talk negative about long distance relationships. Most of them NEVER had an experience being in one. Once you tell someone you are in a ldr (long distance relationship) then suddenly they become an expert on long distance relationships. Throwing negative comments at you telling you why you shouldn’t be in that type of relationship. If you are in one ignore their comments. You shouldn’t let them make you feel some type of way because you’re not in a “normal” relationship. Prove to them that you can make a long-distance relationship work out with your boyfriend or girlfriend. Be happy with who you are with. Don’t be ashamed of your ldr! Enjoy your relationship to the fullest.

Why Long Distance Relationships are Special

Most people can’t handle being in an LDR (long distance relationship). They always feel like they need their partner around 24/7. Don’t get me wrong people in an LDR want the same, but we’re not as clingy. We are strong enough to handle not being physically around our significant other, any temptation that might try to break up our relationship, and the negative opinions that are said about our relationships. Even though, we will love to have our boyfriend or girlfriend around us we are able to remain faithful to them.

There is no such thing as not being able to handle a long distance relationship because if you really care or love someone genuinely you won’t even give them a suspicion of questioning your loyalty. I mean don’t get me wrong I know some couples go through situations and if the solution to their problems is breaking up that’s fine.

Long distance relationships are built for people who don’t mind making sacrifices and being patient. Lord knows it’s hard to have patience when you want to see the person you love in person every day. Long distance relationships are special because not too many people can boldly say that they had enough courage to stay in their relationship without distance affecting the way they love their significant other.  Question for my readers: What makes your long distance relationship special?

8 Ways to Breakup with Someone

Breaking up with someone is hard or an easy thing to do. It depends on the situation in your relationship. You may find yourself stuck and don’t know what to do. Don’t worry I got you! You’re going to learn easy ways to break up with your partner. I guarantee you it will give you the results you’re looking for. Relationships are not always a bowl full of lucky charms.

Let’s Get Started…

1) Find a Quiet/Private Location: Set a time and date at a quiet and private place. It helps to avoid any distractions. You want your boyfriend or girlfriend undivided attention.

2) Tone of Voice: When you’re breaking up with someone you want to stay calm. If you start with attitude in your voice. It can go downhill real fast! Using a calm tone of voice can make the person feel at ease.

3) Ignore them: Yeah, this tip may sound silly but it does get the job done. If you’re in a relationship with someone that’s smart enough to catch hints. Then you might want to try this tip. Now if your partner is crazy you might want to try another motive.

4) Make a song: I know this tip might sound a little crazy. Even though the song may not have sweet lyrics to it. Your boyfriend or girlfriend will take the time to listen to it though. Who wouldn’t listen to a song that is dedicated to them?

There’s more…

5) Get a Friend to Do It: This is not the best thing to do but hey sometimes you got to make decisions you’re not proud of. Your boyfriend or girlfriend might think you’re a coward. There are no real rules on how to break up with someone so it doesn’t matter how you do it.

6) Write a letter: Writing out your feelings gets a lot off your mind. After you’re done pouring out your feelings in the letter. You can read it to your partner to explain to them why you don’t want to be in the relationship. If you’re too nervous to read it in front of them. Try sending the letter in the mail. It’s the effort that counts, right?

7) Send a text: We are in the century where communicating through a phone can take you a long way. You are not the only one breaking up with someone through a text message. Maybe a text is the only way you can get through to them.

8) Video Chat: If you can’t see your partner in person try video chatting with them. It’s sort of like being in person because you get to see each other face to face. You’re just physically in the room with them though. Make sure you have good Wi-Fi connection because that can ruin your process with breaking up with the person.

In conclusion, everyone has their own ways to break up with someone. Maybe the tips above gave you a few ideas. Dealing with a breakup isn’t easy. We all know that of course. If your heart feels like your relationship is not working out. Take the next step to move on.

Be in a Relationship that Makes You Happy

When you first meet, someone make sure you take your time to get to know them. Taking your time with your potential boyfriend or girlfriend helps you learn what type of person they are. Of course, when you have feelings for someone you’re ready to rush into a relationship. That’s not always a good thing. Sometimes you’ll see warning signs before a relationship starts. The warning signs could be unnecessary lies, flirting with any person they talk to, and disrespecting you. To be honest, we all get into relationships ignoring obvious warning signs.

Most of the time it’s our fault we are in bad relationships. We want to believe that anyone that we like is automatically “the one.” That’s not always the case. This is when you realize you’re not happy with the person. To be happy in a relationship, you must learn the qualities you want in a person. Most importantly you must love yourself first. They always say you have to love yourself first to know your worth.

Everyone deserves a happy relationship. You’ll know when you’re in one because you will start glowing. The relationship will make a positive effect on you. You won’t have any major fights like your other toxic relationships. I mean I know all couples have arguments, but you will be able to pick out a silly argument from a toxic argument. Nobody wants to feel stuck in a miserable relationship.

If you feel like you’re not happy anymore be honest with the person you’re with. This is not an easy thing to do because you may not want to hurt the other person’s feelings. In the end, they will appreciate you for being honest though. You never know they might feel the same way. You deserve happiness! Always remember to stay true to yourself. Don’t let an unhealthy relationship steal your happiness.

Songs for Long Distance Relationships ( Des Blog-a-thon) #17

As a person being in a long distance relationship, it’s hard finding songs that relate to mine and others situation because we don’t see our boyfriend or girlfriend often. Don’t worry I handle this problem with listing some songs down below.  Dedicate these songs to your partner I know they will enjoy it!

Long Distance by Brandy: I fell in love with this song when I was younger. Little did I know I would be in a long distance relationship myself and understand what Brandy was singing about. There is a Bruno Mars version of this song, but I don’t like it at all. Brandy release her version of this song first though.

Hey There Delilah by Plain White Ts: Honestly, I didn’t realize this song was about a long distance relationship until later on in life. It’s a beautiful song. The melody of it sounds so sweet. I couldn’t imagine any other music artist to create a better version of this song.

Counting Down The Days by Natalie Imbruglia: Now this song right here will get you through the lonely moments because Natalie expresses explain how we feel in a LDR. I discovered this song today and I like it. This got added to my playlist.

No Air by Jordin Sparks ft Chris Brown: I scream my lungs out trying to hit Jordin Sparks high notes in this song lol. The verse down below hits me so hard.

“But how
Do you expect me, to live alone with just me?
‘Cause my world revolves around you
It’s so hard for me to breathe”

Please don’t lie and tell me you don’t feel this way about your boyfriend or girlfriend sometimes lol. It might sound dramatic, but when you’re in love you may say things like this right?

I Love You by Chris Brown and Ester: I know the sound of the song sounds like Spongebob theme song a little lol. I promise you this is a sweet song though. One night I dedicated this song to my boyfriend. He loved it!!

Whenever you get a chance share this playlist to your partner. Tell me which songs are your favorite. Do you and your soul mate have special songs dedicated to each other?

Rejection Can Be A Blessing 😮🙌🏾

I know in your head now you’re thinking how can rejection be a blessing or maybe saying how is that even possible? Well, if you want to find out I’ll explain it to you. Mostly everyone experienced having a crush/liking, someone. We try to build up the courage to approach or text them. That’s when we start thinking of different scenarios like what if the person doesn’t like me back, what if I make myself look annoying/ridiculous, or how do I start-up a conversation with them. These are only a couple of things that run through your mind, but I know it’s plenty of more. From the title of this post, you can see I’m going to talk about the word we fear the most REJECTION.

In my opinion, I see it as a blessing because it saves you from an unnecessary heartbreak. I don’t know about you, but I think that’s a pretty good reason to accept rejection. I mean I understand that’s not the outcome we would want to experience. I’ll rather have someone honestly reject me than pretend to like me and hurt my feelings. After rejection, it might take you some time to get over it well that depends on how deep you liked the person. Try to keep yourself busy by doing activities you enjoy. I know it’s easier said than done, but you’ll appreciate this piece of advice.

Rejection may seem awful which isn’t always true. For all, you know your crush could have been someone who would lead your life in destruction. Your rejection was a blessing because the person that you liked probably wasn’t the right person for you. There will be someone who comes into your life that will like/love you unconditionally. Don’t try to force a relationship with someone who doesn’t want you.

Long Distance Relationships Aren’t Bad

Now maybe the title of this post caught your attention or you could be curious. There’s nothing wrong with trying to find out why I wrote about this topic. Anyways, most people always have a negative thought about long distance relationships. Every time someone finds out that I am in one they always saying “your boyfriend is cheating on you”, “I can’t handle being away from my boyfriend or girlfriend for too long”, “how do you trust each other.” Oh yeah, I can’t forget the famous “you’re getting catfished” response.

Most of the time I ignore these questions or statements because once I try to explain myself there is always someone trying to play the devil’s advocate. Honestly, they won’t understand what a long distance relationship feels like until they experience catching feelings for someone who’s far away. Situations like this aren’t planned. It’s not like one day I woke up saying I want to be in a long distance relationship, so let me go find someone across the world to go date.

My point is this kind of relationship isn’t bad if you and your partner truly love each other, have good communication through text messages, video chats, or phone calls and make sure you’re able to trust each other. I definitely know that’s one of the hardest things to do, but if something is going on behind your back you’ll get a strange alarming feeling that will warn you. Another point I want to make that’s referring to cheating is even someone who dates a person that lives in the same town as they do can get cheated on as well. It all depends on if your partner truly loves and care about you. If someone tries to talk down on your long distance relationship ignore them cause I’m sure they are probably with someone who they are unhappy with or that’s cheating on them or they just don’t want to see you happy. I don’t mind being in my long distance relationship because I know that my boyfriend and I appreciate our quality time more than a couple that gets to see each other every day.

Interracial Relationships

I decided to write about this topic because it plays a big role in society today. Believe it or not, some people are still against interracial relationships which are surprising to most but not all people. I’m actually in an interracial relationship myself. When I would go out with my boyfriend to certain places we get weird stares. I don’t know if it’s because they are shocked to see an African-American woman with a Hispanic man. Or maybe they dislike seeing us together.

There are times when it’s uncomfortable because unwanted attention is on us. In my opinion, I don’t care if someone dates another person outside of their race. You can’t help who you love plus all that matters is if the person treats you with respect and loves you unconditionally.  I think it’s beautiful to see couples happy without being judgmental about who they choose to be with.

It is more common to see interracial couples in big cities like New York, Miami, and Atlanta plus more but y’all get my point. Then you get into a state like mine which is South Carolina.  You don’t see too many interracial couples and if you do it’s a Caucasian woman with a black man or vice versa. Then you will see a Hispanic man with a Caucasian woman. I had Caucasian friends in the past that were told by their parents that they could have black friends. When it came to dating a black person then that will be a problem. That would be so crazy to me. I do not see a difference between dating a black person or being friends with them. I’m not trying to throw racism in here so I don’t need anyone to get offended.

In conclusion, I support interracial dating because it shows how others have courage dating someone outside their race to get a new experience or love they haven’t gotten from anyone else. By me saying this I’m not trying to say I’m against anyone that dates within their race. That is totally fine. I just don’t want anyone to get any misunderstanding. So I want to know what’s y’all opinion on interracial dating by commenting down below.
