Someone to Put in the Past (Des Blog-a-thon) #15

After all the chaos you put me through

It’s time to let you go….

You thought I would come running back like I did many times before

I can only imagine your facial expression and thoughts

When you realized I was serious this time…

Do You Know About Polyvore? (Des Blog-a-thon #12)

Polyvore has been out for years. The first time I got introduced to it was 4 years ago from a relative. It’s a website for creating outfits that you imagine yourself or others wearing. Polyvore is a popular fashion website, but there still are people who know nothing about it. Also, you can get this app on your phone or tablet from the app store.

I love this app because I see so any cute clothes that I wish I could buy. Sadly to say I don’t have money to be shopping all the time. The cool thing about finding clothes on there is that it is brands that come from stores that we all shop at. Each piece of clothing has a price beside it. This is good to see if you were willing to buy it. Polyvore has a way of directing you to the site the piece of clothing came from so you can buy it anytime you want.

(Prices beside items)

So, basically, you’re making your real outfits on your computer. Doesn’t that sound familiar? If you have seen the movie “Clueless” a few times you’ll remember when  Cher was making her outfits on her computer and she pull out the outfit from her closet. I thought it was so cool when I saw her do that on her computer. Then came to realize later that Polyvore actually makes that possible.

Creating outfits on Polyvore became a hobby of mine. Every outfit I made on there was a way to show my creativity when it came to fashion. Even though, I’m not an expert on styling clothes together. I still felt like a fashion designer lol. It can be addicting to see how many stylish outfits you can create. There is no limit to how many you can make.

Also, they have contests you can join on there. Each contest has a theme to them, so you’ll have to create an outfit that goes with the theme. They are popular on there. This is a good way to get noticed on there if you’re serious about fashion or just want to do it for fun.

If you don’t have an account on Polyvore sign up now! It’s more women on this website than men, but men are still allowed to create an account on there. I highly recommend Polyvore to you if you are into fashion. Down below there will be screenshots of outfits that I created on Polyvore. Oh yeah, follow me on Polyvore at xxdes. You should see my username in the screenshot pictures.

Erasing my beauty (Des Blog-a-thon #13)

Sometimes I wish I could rip my face apart

It would stop the lust in their eyes

If I’m ugly no one will stare

Well not really….

There will always be a perv that doesn’t care

Yuck!

Erasing my beauty will stop the curse of attracting the wrong people

Why can’t they stay away??

DON’T LET ANYONE KNOW YOUR IDEAS (Des Blog-a-thon #11)

There are some people who will try to take credit for your work. If you have good ideas for projects you want to put together keep it to yourself. Nobody needs to know about it until you release the project. The only people who should know details about the project is if they are business people that’s helping you out. I want to give this advice out for everyone to be aware of sneaky snakes (fake people). This is the main reasons why most people don’t collab with others or even try to help them out. You can’t trust everybody. DON’T BE A FOOL!! I don’t know about anybody else, but I don’t play when it comes to my work. NO ONE WILL TAKE CREDIT FOR MY WORK UNLESS I GIVE THEM PERMISSION TOO! If someone tries to steal your work take legal action. Make sure you got proof that they didn’t have permission to use anything of yours.

Affordable Stores to Shop At (Des Blog-a-thon #10)

I tried to think of stores that everyone has in their local area. Maybe some of you will see stores you never heard of before. I’m always trying to shop on a budget. I thought it would be good to share affordable stores that everyone can shop at.

Dollar Tree – I know the United States have a lot of different locations for this store. I’m not sure if they have this store out of the country. If you don’t live in the United States and have a Dollar Tree store let me know. Everything out of Dollar Tree is a dollar. No, I’m not lying to you. Literally, everything out of that store is for a dollar. If it’s not a dollar then it will probably be 50(poster boards) or 89 (some candy bars) cents. You can find real brands of items there. Even if you get something off brand it’s still decent. Well, from my experience. Dollar Tree sales food, arts and crafts, hygiene products for men and women plus much more. It’s one of my favorite stores to shop at.

Wal-Mart – There are plenty of Walmarts around the world. It’s one of the most popular stores that most people know of. Wal-Mart has anything you can think of. I think it’s the best store to go grocery shopping. If you are looking for a certain electronic for a decent price Wal-Mart is a good place to look. I know there are different types of Wal-Marts stores. I shop here a lot so, I’m familiar with most of the things they sell.

Local Beauty Supply Store – I know there are some beauty supply stores that have crazy prices. If you search around your town or the next town over you should be able to find one that has good prices for items you’re interested in buying. The local beauty supply stores I shop in usually have makeup, wigs, hair extensions, hair products (spray, gel, shampoo, conditioner). The list can go on and on. Basically, they sell beauty products. Try finding one that sells stuff in your price range. They have awesome lipsticks!

Last but not least…

Ollie’s – This is the perfect store to buy cute journals from if you are a writer. The items that are sold in this store is books, household items, toys, etc. They even give you good coupons especially if you have a membership with them. The membership is free when you sign up. Every time you go to this store you can use your Ollie’s card to earn points. So, the cheap items that you buy out the store turn out to be a lower price than you expect it. Basically, a Ollie’s card suppose to give you a discount every time you buy something. They are still expanding Ollie’s store locations, so if you don’t have one now. Then you will sooner or later.

I’m hoping everyone found this list of stores helpful. There aren’t many people who take the time to help others out when it comes to shopping. On the other hand, share this post with your friends and family if you feel like this will be useful for them.

How to keep Positive Vibes (Des Blog-a-thon #9)

Even though we all try to keep positive energy around us it’s not always that easy. Nobody likes to be around negativity unless they like drama.  Hopefully, my advice will help you keep positive vibes.

First, you need to have a clear mindset to bring in positivity. No matter if you think bad vibes always follow you. Block out those negative thoughts and trade them in for positive ones. Once you start seeing different situations in a positive light you’ll have the perfect outcome you’re looking for.

Second, always make sure the friends or family you keep around you are trying to be uplifting. If you feel like they have bad energy then keep your distance away from them. The person or people might get upset, but you don’t need to be around negative people who want to bring everyone down with them. Do what’s best for you! It’s nothing wrong with keeping yourself away from people who are no good for you. They can be a long time friend, family member, or someone you just met. Watch out for them!

Third, everything reflects back on you. I know we can’t control everything that happens to us, but you can try to make effort to turn things around. The more positivity you bring into your life you’ll have good vibes surrounding you. You have to know how to make the right choices in life, Yes, mistakes will still happen here and there. Learn from the mistakes don’t repeat them.

5 Break Up Songs That Will Never Get Old (Des Blog-a-thon #8)

Hello, bloggers, we all been through a break-up and we play certain songs that get us through it. If you are going through one or have experienced any type of break up these are 5 break up songs that will never get old on your playlist. Maybe you will see some songs that are new to you.

Irreplaceable – Beyoncé: Back in 2006 this was every girl anthem when they went through a breakup.  This is a song to tell your ex that you’re fed up with their bull crap and they can make the nearest exit out of your life. Let’s face it this is an addicting song. Think about how hard it is to find someone who tells you they don’t like this song. Beyoncé is the queen of good music.

Say Goodbye – Chris Brown: If you listen to this song, yeah you’ll get in your feelings because no one wants to leave out of a relationship with someone they love deeply. You only want to dedicate this song to someone if you want, to be honest, and tell them you are not happy in your relationship anymore. Chris Brown made it clear in the song that he still loves his girl, but they are growing apart. I have a love/hate relationship with the music video though cause he basically cheated on his loyal girlfriend. I respect that he was bold enough to confess to his girl that he doesn’t want her anymore.

Confessions Part 2 – Usher: This is another one of those songs where you’re ready to tell your boyfriend/girlfriend the truth. If I’m not mistaken the story of the song is based on a part of Usher’s life. Don’t quote me on it though.  You can tell Usher didn’t want to confess anything to his girlfriend, but he had no choice. This song stays on replay on my playlist.

Too Little too Late – Jojo: Jojo sang her heart out in this song. The music video for this song represented Jojo pain very well. I love music videos that give the perfect visualization of a singer lyrics. This is a song that will have you crying over and over because the lyrics are so real. It’s easy to relate to if you experience pain in a relationship.

Take a Bow – Rihanna: The music video for this song stayed on tv. This song was released a while after Rihanna’s breakup with Chris Brown, so you know everyone assumed she was talking about him. If you reached your breaking point dealing with lies and other petty problems then this is the right song for you. I love Rihanna short haircut in the video.

If you enjoyed this post I’ll do a part 2. Do you see any songs you’re familiar with? If so, which one is your favorite? Maybe one day these songs will be added to your breakup song playlist.

90’s Movies I Love (Des Blog-a-thon) #6

Sister Act 2 (1993): Honestly, I think Sister Act 2 is better than the first movie lol. I guess because the second one brings more entertainment. Whoopi Goldberg (Sister Mary Clarence) brings the movie to life along with the other characters. She is so hilarious. I love how she spoke her mind and changed the kids in a positive way. I love when Lauryn Hill (Rita in the movie) sings in this movie! Her voice is so beautiful. She’s one of my favorite singers by the way. I can’t forget about one of my favorite parts when the students are performing the song “Oh  Happy Day!” It was funny when Wesley shocked Sister Mary Clarence when he hit those high pitch singing notes. All the kids in the movie have talent though. This movie is on Hulu Plus if you’re interested in watching it.

(Oh Happy Day scene skip the video to 2;39 to see when Wesley shocks Sister Mary Clarence)

Good Burger (1997): This movie came out the year I was born. Every time when I went to my cousin house we used to re watch this movie a lot on the VCR. I can quote most of the words to this movie. I love the scene when Ed starts singing “I’m a dude, she’s a dude, he’s a dude, cause we’re all dudes hey!” Kenan (Dexter in the movie) and Kel (Ed in the movie) always are the perfect duo when they play in comedy movies. Ed always was clueless in the movie lol. You can watch this movie on Netflix if you haven’t seen it before or want to re watch it.

(Ed singing scene)

Pocahontas (1995): First let me start with saying how beautiful Pocahontas is as an animated character. Whoever drew her took their time. I wanted to be her so bad when I was younger. My favorite song she sings on the movie is “Just around the Riverbend”. The song always touches my heart. A funny thing I want to mention is I used to try to reenact the part when Pocahontas jumped off the cliff into the water. Instead of jumping off an actual cliff I would get on a chair and jump from it and pretend that the floor was water lol. Don’t judge me I had a wild imagination when I was younger. Fun Fact: Pocahontas is a real person back in my junior year of high school my teacher told us in history class that Pocahontas was a little girl when she met John and they weren’t in a relationship like in the movie. She die as a young adult from a European disease.

(Just around the riverbend song)

( Jumping off Cliff scene)

Matilda (1996):  Matilda is such a sweet heart. It sucks that her parents treated her wrong.  She was a gifted child. Her teacher is so sweet. It made me happy when the teacher decided to adopt her because I knew she would take good care of Matilda. I used to think I had magic powers like Matilda with moving objects around the room if I concentrated on them hard enough lol.

George of the Jungle (1997): I had this movie on VCR. I can’t even count how many times I used to watch this movie and laugh at how ridiculous George acted over Jane. George was crazy in love with her. They were a cute couple. I liked how they had the Gorillas talking like humans. Especially the smart one that lived with George he had some funny jokes.

I enjoyed all these movies growing up. Also, I hope you enjoyed reading this post. So tell me what are your favorite movies? I’m interested in reading everyone’s comments!

Anxiety (Des Blog-a-thon) #5

Anxiety…

You make me feel awful

You make going out in public uncomfortable

I always feel like a pair of eyes are staring at me even though their not

I can’t sleep at night because you cause me to over think little mistakes that I made

Whether it was from today, yesterday, a year or month ago…

Why can’t you leave me alone?

You’re a big distraction to my life

Why can’t I be “normal” like others?

Don’t  get me started on trying to explain anxiety without being judged

It’s difficult for anyone to understand if they never experienced it…

So, I sit alone as an outcast dealing with anxiety alone…
