90’s Movies I Love (Des Blog-a-thon) #6

Sister Act 2 (1993): Honestly, I think Sister Act 2 is better than the first movie lol. I guess because the second one brings more entertainment. Whoopi Goldberg (Sister Mary Clarence) brings the movie to life along with the other characters. She is so hilarious. I love how she spoke her mind and changed the kids in a positive way. I love when Lauryn Hill (Rita in the movie) sings in this movie! Her voice is so beautiful. She’s one of my favorite singers by the way. I can’t forget about one of my favorite parts when the students are performing the song “Oh  Happy Day!” It was funny when Wesley shocked Sister Mary Clarence when he hit those high pitch singing notes. All the kids in the movie have talent though. This movie is on Hulu Plus if you’re interested in watching it.

Good Burger (1997): This movie came out the year I was born. Every time when I went to my cousin house we used to re watch this movie a lot on the VCR. I can quote most of the words to this movie. I love the scene when Ed starts singing “I’m a dude, she’s a dude, he’s a dude, cause we’re all dudes hey!” Kenan (Dexter in the movie) and Kel (Ed in the movie) always are the perfect duo when they play in comedy movies. Ed always was clueless in the movie lol. You can watch this movie on Netflix if you haven’t seen it before or want to re watch it.

Pocahontas (1995): First let me start with saying how beautiful Pocahontas is as an animated character. Whoever drew her took their time. I wanted to be her so bad when I was younger. My favorite song she sings on the movie is “Just around the Riverbend”. The song always touches my heart. A funny thing I want to mention is I used to try to reenact the part when Pocahontas jumped off the cliff into the water. Instead of jumping off an actual cliff I would get on a chair and jump from it and pretend that the floor was water lol. Don’t judge me I had a wild imagination when I was younger. Fun Fact: Pocahontas is a real person back in my junior year of high school my teacher told us in history class that Pocahontas was a little girl when she met John and they weren’t in a relationship like in the movie. She die as a young adult from a European disease.

Matilda (1996):  Matilda is such a sweet heart. It sucks that her parents treated her wrong.  She was a gifted child. Her teacher is so sweet. It made me happy when the teacher decided to adopt her because I knew she would take good care of Matilda. I used to think I had magic powers like Matilda with moving objects around the room if I concentrated on them hard enough lol.

George of the Jungle (1997): I had this movie on VCR. I can’t even count how many times I used to watch this movie and laugh at how ridiculous George acted over Jane. George was crazy in love with her. They were a cute couple. I liked how they had the Gorillas talking like humans. Especially the smart one that lived with George he had some funny jokes.

I enjoyed all these movies growing up. Also, I hope you enjoyed reading this post. So tell me what are your favorite movies? I’m interested in reading everyone’s comments!
